Guess this would tell you guys how interesting this trip was...........
We were ferried to see islands. So what makes island an island? The number of islands was determined using the criteria that any island must be above water level for 365 days per year, bigger than one square foot, and support at least one tree or shrub. The area is very popular among vacationers, campers, and boaters, and is often referred to as the 'fresh water boating capital of the world.'
World's shortest international footbridge, less than 10metres!
"Garage on water" to house boats...
There is this Boldt Castle that is housed on Heart Island (the island is heart-shaped). There is a romantic story behind this castle.. It was built by George Boldt but construction was halted when his wife died. Thereafter, he donated this piece of island to the government, and is the ONLY island in 1000 islands that belongs to the government. It is now a major landmark and major tourist attraction in the region. It was then time to head back to Boston, with a lunch stop at MY buffet restaurant :p
