As a recognition for the hard work put in by the QC lab, we had a year end QC celebration at Portsmouth Brewery today from 4 - 8pm. We left work at 4 and reached there early.. There was a pool table in the pub and the few of us chose a cosy corner and started to take pictures :p

Maelynn arrived at Portsmouth yesterday.. Went to fetch her from the bus terminal and settled her at my place. Drove her around after work today. Brought her to Lonza first, then Downtown Portsmouth then to Foxrun Mall. Had dinner at a Mexican restaurant where we chatted over the dinner... Couldnt even finish the food... :p

21st October, 2006

Went to Boston's Museum of Science with the complimentary pass i got from Lonza... The Museum was pretty interactive but find it a bit of cruel to have animals taxidermed for the displays.

From technolgy...

to biology...

Saw my name against my height???

Me and DNA... DNA and Me...

Exact size of T Rex footprint!!!

Watched "Greece" at the omni theater after roaming the Science Museum. Not a bad show! Then we went shopping at Downtown Crossing and after that, I brought her to the Quincy Market. Look at some of the food below :p

Butter cookies for Halloween

This is for you, Valerie!!! Hee...

Bought the Boston cream pie and the German Chocolate cake back to ML's hotel at Burlington, which was about half an hr away. Spent the Saturday night at the hotel then :p

22nd October, 2006

15th October, 2006

Got tickets from Lonza to visit the Museum of Science in Boston. A total of 3 cars set off at abt 1030am and just bcos the guys wanna avoid taking the Tobin Bridge (cos of the USD3 toll), we took a longer route, got LOST again, before we reached Chinatown at 1230pm. We were feeling the hunger pang then and headed to a HK eatery for lunch.

Decided to go Museum of Science then, before coming back for grocery shopping. BUT the guys decided to walk there. We started off from Chinatown at abt 230 and ended up reaching the Museum only at 4pm!!! *pengz* Along the way, we passed by Downtown crossing and Feline's basement (SHOPPING!!!!!!) and CHarles River... ...

Charles River... ...

And when we got to Museum of Science, realised that it closed at 5pm! No point going in and thus wanted to watch show at Omni Theater.

4pm - "Greece" (missed it cos started when we reached)
5pm - "The Human Body (they said dun think it's nice, so dun wanna watch this)

So, we exchanged the ticket for the 8pm show - "Greece". Made our way BACK to Chinatown then, taking the T and we started our grocery shopping. Met up at abt 7pm and we drove our cars to Museum of Science for the 8pm show. But alas! LOST again..!! Went all the way to Boston University and by the time we made it back to the Omni Theater, it was oredi 810pm!!! Doors were locked. Wanted to change to the 9pm show and guess wat - "The Human Body" again!!! *pengz*

Haiz... we then change to tickets for planetarium where there was a laser show ongoing at 830pm. WHAT LASER SHOW!?!? Juz those laser graphics, coupled to whole bunch of U2 songs.. It was a U2 'concert' so to speak... Slept for the 45 min, with the heavy metal banging in the head...

From Omni theater to Planetarium....

Left the Museum of Science at 945pm with only a quarter-full tank of gasoline. Decided to take a risk - drove all the way back to Portsmouth WITHOUT refilling :p Stepped on the accelerator and drove between 80 - 100 mph and we reached home in only abt an hr!!! But in the end, got a scolding from my parents - for speeding :p

13th October, 2006

Had a small eating session at Vega/Celeste place tonight, for the sake of my flaming lamborghini.. :p Yiming knew how to prepare that and I got him to be the bartender for the night and his family came with a box of alcohols, chicken wings and Low's legendary brownie (baked by his house-mate, Low)

Look at the spread...

After dinner, it was show time... Kahlua was the first to be pured in the shotglass, followed by vodka. Shotglass was then flamed and while sucking it all down with a straw, bailey was added last to give it a sweet aftertaste...

Blurred flaming lamborghini

Then it was a seesion of talking, boozing and fun :p

I am into quarters-collection recently - A quarter is a coin worth one-quarter of a United States dollar, or 25 cents and is the highest denomination US coin commonly in circulation. The current regular issue coin is the Washington quarter (showing George Washington) on the obverse, and an eagle on the reverse.

The ones that i am collecting are different. They are released by the United States Mint for The 50 State Quarters program. It is the release of a series of commemorative coins between 1999 and 2008 (the anticipated completion date) that features each of the 50 individual U.S. states on unique designs for the reverse of the quarter.

My collection as of now, another 25 to go :p

Initially, I would take note of whatever changes I got when I do my shopping. But now I've discovered a new way to collect my quarters - COIN CHANGING MACHINE in Lonza!! And that has become my new hobby... Hee Hee Hee....... :p

8th October, 2006

Many said that the weather today was the most ideal to go White Mountain. To see the trees during the Fall as well as for hiking. Woke up early today and the whole gang of us were prepared to hike Mount Major. Mount Major is 1123ft off sea-level and it provides a scenic view of Lake Winnipesaukee. And i'm not kidding here guys, this Lake Winnipesaukee is BIGGER than S'pore!!! Hahaha........

The few panoramic shots were taken when I was at the summit of Mount Major.

We started off from the foot of the mountain at abt 1045am, after more than an hour's drive from our home. There were 2 different routes which we could take - easy or difficult. Needless to say, we took the easy one.

The easy route entrance behind us...

The route was not as EASY as it said it would be. Along the way, there were steep terrains with rocks and fallen foliage to stump over.

Because of me, the gals have to stop umpteen times to wait for me to have my break. Within the 1st 15min of hike, I was already panting and gasping for air. Heart was beating erratically and head started to spin after half an hour on the trail... As it was a beautiful day, lot of ppl were heading up and down the mountain. After 1.5hrs on the trail, we started askiong ppl that we met along the way, whether we were reaching the summit yet :p

Finally saw the signboard above after 1hr and 50min.... 0.2miles more to go... and FINALLY after the 2 hrs of panting and gasping, we finally reached the summit of Mount Major. And all we could see were:

The colours of the trees have not fully changed as yet... Maybe another one or two weeks, it'll be even more beautiful here...

After an hr of eating and photo-taking, we made our way down the mountain. And all it took was an hr and 15moin - WITHOUT STOPPING!!! :p But at the end of the trip, think I strained my right leg. I couldn't lift it up at all!!! When getting in and out of the car, i need to lift my leg with both hands!! Can u guys imagine how long i havent been exercising?!?!?!
