Today is the last day I am alone at home as my housemates would be back from Montreal after spending 4 days there (meaning i have been alone at home for the past 4 days, which i enjoyed very much :p)... Went to Boston today with 2 of my frenz as they were going for a musical ballet - Nutcrackers (famous in Boston) And what would i be doing there since I'm not going for the musical? Hee... ...

For the 1st time, we tried out the Taiwan cafe in Chinatown. But it was a total disappointment. Take a look at the leftovers...

For a moment, u thought i was having laksa rite? This is 咸豆浆 leh!!!

生煎包 - the skin was really thick 到~~~~ tsk tsk tsk

蠔煎 - one of the better ones but still, too OILY....

Went to Downtown Crossing with my frenz to shop for a while before they headed to the Opera House for their ballet. After taking a look at the map directory by the road, I set off towards a certain direction - which turned out to be WRONG cos i saw this building...

This is the infamous South Station of Boston. It brings people into and out of Boston as it is the main transportation centre in Boston. It has both trains and buses services to other states like New York, Washington and even Canada... (From afar, it reminded me of Flinder's Station of Melbourne)

Just that the world clocks are missing from this entrance :p

Went in and asked for a map and also directions to go to the place that i wanna go - Copley. So i've walked the OTHER direction instead. So i walked all the way back, to the other direction. Weather was juz nice for strolling today - not too windy, with a little bit of sun and not a lot of people as well.. Armed with my mp3 player, i took a walk along Boyleston Street - A walk that took abt 2 hrs, to and fro...

Juz a week before the actual Thanksgiving, we have our very own MINI Thanksgiving dinner... We have it earlier cos all except me and SF, would be going to Montreal for a little vacation. Instead of having a Thanksgiving turkey (which is too BIG for us), we are having a chicken with stuffing.

Besides the stuffing mix that we bought from the supermart, I added some hotdogs, celery and corn. After marinating the chicken for a few hrs, we began stuffing it. And the end product looked like this:

It was then roasted at 350F for 1.5hrs... And out came the main character of tonite's dinner

Palatable right??? :p Hee...... Besides the stuffed chicken, we have mashed potato, baked chicken wings and chicken nuggets... (An Almost-All CHICKEN MEAL)

Today's the day - my housemate, YY would be having her first (hopefully the last as well) driving test after 2 months of theory and practical. I went with her to Concord's DMV (Department of Motor Vehicles) to have her test taken - written and practical together on the same day. Since I'm there, i am taking the test as well :p And all I did was browse through her driving manual few days ago and some last minute studying on the way there :p

Spent an hour to reach Concord, another hour waiting to get ourselves registered and then we were given 20 MCQ questions to finish at our own sweet time. After which we submitted back to the counter and then we each got a cone with a number on it. These were number in queue and we were supposed to place the cone on the dashboard of the car. The tester would come out and take each car based on the number on the queue.

Since YY and me were using the same car for the test, we both placed our cones on the dashboard and ours was the only car with 2 cones! *giggle giggle* After about an hour's wait, the tester approached our car as it was our turn. Told him that we would be using the same car and he said alright :p The weather was nice today as the sun was bright and sunny. I waited in the sun for abt 15 min and YY came back with a big GRIN on her face - SHE MADE IT!!! Hahaha.. so happy...

panda's turn then. Followed the tester's instruction and drove the car out of the compound. Was travelling for quite a while till the tester told me to "please reduce your speed to the speed limit. Thank you" Oopps... speeding!!! Cham... Then we made our way back and he told me to do a reverse parking. And that was it. The test was over in 10 min! Analysis came then... These were what he said:

"When you pulled out of the parking lot just now, you din take a look behind before you moved out. You did that only after you pull out, that's wrong"
"U drove at a speed that was higher than the speed limit indicated on the road just now. You were travelling at 38mph on a 30mph road" (Come on loh, how could he be so specific?!?!?! 38mph.... *duh*)
"When u did the reverse parking, you did well with your mirrors but you forgot to do head checks (blind spots). You should do head checks, but on the whole, you did well! Well done! Congratulations! You got your license"

YEAH!!!!! Hahaha.... I made it as well!!! Despite the 15 points i got for all the mistakes i made :p
Went back to the centre and queued up to have the rest of the procedures done. Paid USD50 and got a photo taken on the spot. Then they handed me a temporary license that would expire in 60 days, in which the permanent one would be sent to my house...

Temporary license that could pass off as the actual driving license.. NICE rite?!?!

Browsed thru my hp's photos today then i realised i forgot to upload the Halloween's decoration that was put up by the offices in Lonza during Halloween.... Here's some of the shots :p

It's Vega birthday today and we went for dinner at Outback Steakhouse. Xiaoyan baked her a cake and we played a prank on her by putting 'magic' candles that would relight by themselves, no matter how hard u blow. Hahahha.......

I've decided not to go Montreal during Thanksgiving cos of the COLD weather and all my colleagues said i made the right decision cos really too cold to do anything. Alright, i shall go there next year, in the summer :)

For the first time, tonight's temperature will dip to about 27F (-3C)... Really getting cold. I shall hereby announce that my HIBERNATION starts. *kekeke*......

Wonder how well i shld prepare myself for my Montreal trip during Thanksgiving... :p

Counting and counting, another 6 more weeks and my panda will be here... Hee....
