After a 2-week vacation, my 'Sharon Au-look-alike' housemate finally returned from S'pore. Together with her, she brought back a lot of local food condiments, cooking ingredients and also CNY goodies!!! And guess what? Those in the red-capped plastic containers were homemade by her aunt and grandmother!! Yum Yum!!!!!!

After a period of hibernation, time for some action this weekend!!!

A ski trip !!!

But since i can't ski (cos of the past BAD experience), i am trying SNOW TUBING today... It took us about an hour to reach Gunstock Ski resort and it was already quite crowded. Those who were skiing and snowboarding, went to sign up for their passes while SF and me went to get our snow tubing tickets :p

See those ppl going up in their tubes? They would then slide down from the trails from above. This is called snow-tubing. Looks fun right??? :p

I was a bit hesitant and scared to try that out when I saw the speed at which the ppl are coming down at. You guys know me, I'm clumsy and timid and always prone to getting hurt in games like this :p Anyway, took the first attempt...

When we reached the top of the slope, we would queue for our turn in any of the 4 trails n wait for our turn to slide down. Wah... it felt shiok when u were tubing down. Scared at some point in time that I might fell out of my tube. But I didn't :p So played a couple more times before me and SF decided to give double-tubing a try. We both tubed down TOGETHER, holding onto each other's tube :p That was even MORE fun!!! Kekeke..........

After 2 hours of tubing (which is abt 6 times only), we went to look for our fellow trainees who were having their skiing and snowboarding lessons...

SF and I then made our way to Tilton factory outlets to SHOP!!! There's Nike, Sketchers, Levi's, Polo Ralph, Liz Clariborne, GAP, Coach, Fossils, Tommy Hilfger etc... Spent abt 4 hrs there n thrown away about $150!!! AArrgghhh... now heartache :p

Bought this watch for myself at Fossil... Belongs to the motion dial series of Fossil's women's watch collection. Anyone wanna make a guess how much this cost as well? :p

Chinese New Year's eve!!! The day for our reunion dinner... Steamboat was on the menu for the day and preparation work started 2 hours before the actual dinner started at 6pm. Look what we have got here..

Jonathan came early to help with the preparation and all thanks to the great chef for chopping up 2 whole chickens :p

Saw how we ate the steamboat above? Wahahaha...... Because it took AGES for the steamboat pot to boil, we resorted to using the rice cooker (which boiled faster than that piece of 'for-show' steamboat) and also the stove!!! We literally ate OFF the stove. Hahaha... all crowded round the stove to fish for food! :p

Next, time to prepare for the lou hei...

After the ''mess', it was dessert time. All thanks to Jasmine, Low and AL/SF, we have got a strawberry shortcake, a blackforest cake and mango pudding with fruit cocktails...

Over at S'pore, today's already Chinese New Year eve where everyone will be having reunion dinner... A lot of our TAP trainees are now celebrating with their friends and families back in S'pore as well. Nonetheless, for those staying behind here in Portsmouth, we'll be having our 'reunion' dinner on Sat.. Will update with photos then :)

Meanwhile, i have got 2 more belated 'Friendship Day' gifts... :p Thank you to all!!!

And i made this just in time for Chinese New Year, to have a feel of the festive season. Haha...

Happy Valentines' to all!!!

But it was a SNOW STORMED Valentines' Day here for us... The worst snowfall ever since winter started in December... Going to work was still manageable as there was only moderate snowfall and the roads were ploughed. Thought it would be like that for the day, but was asked to leave almost immediately at 230pm by my sup today. There was a 'white-out' oredi.. Snow ploughers could not catch up with the heavy snowfall n the roads were all covered with snow and semi-heavy snowfall might reduce the visibility.

The journey home was terrible, kept saying prayers in my heart :p Wahaha... Car was always out of control and gotta steered it back on tracks. Oh my god... The usual 15min drive took me more than half an hour today. Everyone was slow and I was only going at about 20mph. Think my Nissan isn't fit to tread in snow. And when i reached home, finally, i couldnt get into my parking lot cos it was piled with snow!!! Kept stepping on the accelerator, then reversed, then forward and backwards, until i 'ploughed' some snow OUT to let my car in!!! And when i got out of my car, my whole ankle was buried in snow!! See how deep my feet went into!! If u guys can see clearly......

Amidst all these, let's see what I've got from friends here for Valentines' Day, aka Friendship Day... (there's actually one more, but it wasn't in time for this picture :p)

Most important of all, besides the chain my panda gave me, i received these TODAY - on VDay itself!!!

Nevermind if this wasnt what it was supposed to be, i still like it :)

Had a potluck session at Kelly's house today and the main attraction(s) of the nite was MAHJONG, curry chicken and cocktail :p Quite a number of us went for this makan session and upon entry to the house, you could see this on the wall of the living room...

Weilin bought a coffee-maker recently and as some of us requested ice coffee, she made us some ice-blended coffee, using the ELECTRIC MIXER!!! Wahahaha..............

But the coffee tasted not bad :p Then there was the bartender of the nite - Kelly, concocting different cocktails with their selection of alcohols and mixers. Favourite of the nite was Cosmo and since we are on the topic of cocktails, i got myself a pack of special poker cards recently. On each of the 52 cards is a different cocktail recipe !! Any one of u out there want a pack? *kekeke*

For the dinner, we had curry chicken, fried beehoon, charsiew and sweet corn. Agar agar was the dessert and then it was MAHJONG session!!! As it could only take up 4 ppl, the rest were GLUED to the tv, watching the uncensored "Sex and the City". Groaning n moaning sound every now and then :p Wahahaha.......................

Now for some mahjong talk, this set of mahjong got me all confused during the first game. I ended up putting this out as i thought it was a 'flower'...

Seasoned players would know wat this is right?!!?!?

All the tiles are numbered and they don't have 'animals', but 2 sets of the "seasons". But they also have this as 花...

Last, but not least, take a look at the 红中发财..... *pengz* Wahahaha.....

On the whole, it was fun as I HAVE MISSED MY MAHJONG BADLY ALL THIS WHILE!!! :p
