A beautiful Saturday to bring my mum out. Nothing too fanciful, just Ogunquit and Nubble Lighthouse at York and lobster dinner.. But to start the day off, we had a wonderful breakfast at Joyce's Kitchen, Newmarket all thanks to KY's recommendation.

After the sumptuous breakfast, we made our way to Ogunquit at York. As we were nearing Ogunquit beach, the traffic started to get heavier. There was really a HUGE crowd at the beach!!

It was really a HOT day n i was sweating away. But we couldn't resist the temptation of walking into the water...My mum, being a typical Singaporean auntie, chose to sit under the tent and waited for us :p

After the short visit, we continued our journey to Cape Neddick, the Nubble lighthouse. We came here last summer and to me, it is still as beautiful as before...

Was walking around when a familiar jeep drove past us. It was Judy, our Lonza receptionist. She was all dress-ed up as a clown! There was an event at Cape Neddick and she was invited to provide entertainment for the kids. Judy is one of the top ten clowns around the NH area!!! She gave us a balloon each, which she made them herself..

We went nearby for some ice-cream, before making our way back to Kittery. Before we made our way to WL's house, we dropped by Fort McClary for a while....





The day was wrapped up with a sumptuous lobster dinner at Robert's grill house in Kittery...

Time flies~~~

It's that time of the year again....

What occasion? you may ask...

Well.... last year....

A year later...

It's SF's birthday again..... A surprise birthday cake for her @ work and a simple celebration at KY's house after work...



My mum is here as well!!!

We had chicken wings, bacon-wrapped scallop, pasta in clam sauce, garlic bread and fries, courtesy of Chef KY :p After our meal, we had some ktv-ing and karaok-ing before Katie came back with her mum.

Think my mum is hooked on pool... Wahahaha...

Katie gave KY and SF each a spa voucher as birthday gift..

Spent the weekend at NYC with my mum and my sis who had just touched down.. Didn't go anywhere in particular, just Flushing, Queens and Timesquare. So, what did we do? ......

Another day trip for the weekend and we headed south to Capecod today. Capecod is an arm-shaped peninsula located on the eastermost portion of Massachesetts. The journey there took a good whole 3.5hrs with much traffic when we were nearing Sagamore bridge - one of the two bridges that links to Capecod.




Made a stop at Hyannis visitor center when we reached Capecod - for a toilet break, to get some local maps and to ask for directions at the same time. Got to know that there would be festival going on at Provincetown and thus, there might be heavy traffic along the way. Provincetown (aka "Pee-town") is a 'gay-resort' and 50miles away from Hyannis. Along the way, we could make several stops for beautiful coastal scenery...

Continued on with our journey as we made our way to the downtown of Hyannis. After parking our car by the roadside, we began walking down the road, till we passed by this park..

It was then time to head to the Waterfront...

After 'visiting' the Waterfront, we walked back to our car, all ready for our scenic route drive, to Pee-town. But as i drove along, we realised that we were on the wrong side of the road. And juz when i wanted to make a u-turn, a car drove past me n i wasnt in time for the brake... U guys can imagine what happened then.............. :/ Haizzzzz...........

Settled the details n we moved on... Sometime down the road, we came to this National Park n made a turn in to ask for further directions (forgot to take photo of the National Park :p) Got to know that the infamous Nauset beach's parking was oredi full and hence, we went for lunch at Lobster Shanty that was just opposite the Park...




Felt really sleepy after the lunch and dozed off when I was on the way to Pee-town. Heard some hu-ha about sand dunes amidst my nap though... :p From afar, we saw this monument that has been erected there for almost a century. Parked our car at a public carpark and walked towards the landmark of Provincetown.




It took us about 10minutes to climb all the way up to the top. The Pilgrim Monument is the tallest all-granite structure in the United States. The granite came from Maine and each stone is the thickness of the wall. Thought the views from the top would be magnificent but was disaapointed as we could only look through little windows and the area was all fenced up..



Didn't take us too long to make our way down and we headed to the main streets of Pee-town. Noticed this rainbow colored flags hanging around and got to know that this is the 'gay-pride' flag :p There are really many 'couples' around!!! Kekeke......

As it was nearing dusk, we decided to make a move as it would take a pretty long ride home. Along the way back, we enroute to Nauset Light beach to take a look at the lighthouse. But again, it was hmm... not to my expectations :p
