29th December, 2007

Took us about 7 hours before we reached Los Angeles Union Station at about 6am. We have about an hour to spare before boarding the connecting coach to San Diego from there. It was only another 1.5 hours when we reach San Diego. After locating the MTS station, we made our way to our hotel to check in...

After putting out luggage down, we made our way to the Old Town of San Diego... First impression of San Diego - there isn't many people in this city. There is no crowd everywhere.. All the more we thought so, as we entered the historic Old Town..

Like I said, it's historic old town, hence the setting of this place is pretty much decades ago...

Big cactus ah!!!

Old dentist clinic

As we walked further into the area, we discovered that there was actually a huge crowd in the Old Town!!!

Left the Old Town around evening time and made our way to 'downtown', but this downtown is not a typical downtown. There was NO CROWD - everywhere was so quiet... Wahaha...

We then made our way to the Newport Village for the sunset...

panda again to end the day... But MORE PANDAs coming tomorrow!!! Hee Hee...

28th December, 2007

Has scheduled for an Alcatraz tour this morning and after asking for directions from the hotel staff, we took Tram F to Fisherman's Wharf.

Alcatraz Island, also known as "The Rock", served as a lighthouse, then a military fortification, then a military prison, followed by a federal prison until 1963, where it became a national recreation area.

my panda, you don't get jealous ok. Wahaha... =p

The informative audio tour

Made our way to the Fisherman's Wharf area and I was fascinated by the colors and crowd there...

Walked to the 'landmark' of Pier 39, trying to catch a whole lot of seals there waiting for us. However... -_-

As we walked down the Pier, there was a little episode where our Ms Shilen caused KY to be harassed as a result of her bulky camera -_- Wahahaha....

And then, we came to Ghirardelli Square where delicious chocolates awaits...

As we were pretty NEAR to the famous Lombard Street, we began walking there and it really took a lot out of me, as the roads were all so STEEP and we were walking uphill *panting panting* But as the sky was dark, couldn't really take any pictures of the world's crookedest street...

And then, we took a small kopi break in this cafe where I took this pic for someone especially (better thank me hor :p)

Had dinner at this Thai restaurant (which I got to know from my sis later, that almost all SQ crew patronize this eatery whenever they fly to San Francisco) before we departed for SAN DIEGO~~~~~~

San Diego!!! Here we come!!!
